Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you through scenic landscapes with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see white rhinos in their natural habitat. Arrive in the park, check into your lodge, and relax as you prepare for the days of adventure ahead.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Start the day with an exciting morning game drive spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and various bird species across the park. After lunch, enjoy a tranquil boat cruise on the Nile River up to the base of Murchison Falls, witnessing hippos, crocodiles, and the breathtaking waterfall where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, travel to Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of the largest populations of chimpanzees in Africa. En route, admire the beautiful countryside and local communities. Upon arrival, relax at the lodge or opt for a guided nature walk in the nearby Bigodi Wetlands, known for birdwatching and lush vegetation.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Experience an exhilarating morning chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest, led by expert trackers who help you find these fascinating primates in their natural environment. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetlands on foot with a local guide to see diverse bird species and learn about the ecosystem. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart early for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the sanctuary of over 340 endangered mountain gorillas. The road trip offers stunning scenery and opportunities to see wildlife along the way. Check into your lodge upon arrival and unwind or take a short evening nature walk.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking. Spend the day trekking through dense forest guided by rangers to encounter a family of mountain gorillas. The experience is unforgettable but can take between 2 to 8 hours. Return to the lodge and relax or participate in optional cultural visits to local Batwa communities.
Day 7: Return to Kampala and Departure
Enjoy breakfast then begin your journey back to Kampala. On the way, stop at the Equator for photos and brief cultural stops. Arrive in Kampala in time for your departure or onward travel arrangements.
